Tensacciai designs and builds anchorages, manufactures the relevant equipment and installs the entire system, including operating and engineering services.
To make our system more functional and to ensure that it keeps pace with the evolution in international standards, specific choices were made along with optimised planning.
The range of post-tensioning systems is nowadays the following
MTAI system
Is the monogroup anchorage range improved and completed. With its compact geometry and reduced angle of deviation, is the most utilised and high performing Tensacciai development for the internal post-tensioning application. Our upcoming development of anchorages is now focusing on this type, with a greater and improved bearing capacity.
It is also manufactured in the dead version, type MTAIM, where accessibility for stressing is denied. The previous MTA and MTAM system continue to be made available for those applications where the lay-out of the tendon requires very short lengths for the straight section, i.e. the anchorage. Tensacciai castings are made with high-strength nodular cast iron while anchor discs are made with forged steel.
MTG system
Is the range of anchorages suitable for the coupling of cables.
It is fully integrated with the MTAI system and allows installation of cables in different separate stages.
For coupling of cables it is also available the previous system CU, made with use of mono-strand couplers.
MTAIE system
Is Tensacciai external-post-tensioning evolution, suitably designed for external cables where full replaceability and protection is required.
System can be demounted and substituted through the presence of an inner steel cone that separates strands and inner protective injection from the surrounding elements in the anchorage zone.
MTAID system
MTAID anchorages for electrically insulated post-tensioning meet the demand for total protection of pre-stressing cables from corrosive agent. This protection is total and permanent, since the cable is enveloped completely in a protective sheath from outside agents, starting from the anchoring blocks. Protection by envelopment consists of dielectric material made of high-density polyethylene that covers the strands also in the anchoring areas.
In this post-tensioning application, the anchoring discs of the strands are separated from the cast-iron blocks of the ends by means of rings made of dielectric material capable of withstanding the prestressing effort without becoming deformed.
The polyethylene connectors that are positioned inside the cast-iron blocks lead out from the separating rings; then they are connected to the sheaths by means of elements that make the system completely waterproof.
PTS system
Special flat anchorages for bonded slab post-tensioning are available and widely spread in the application of buildings’ floors.
DF system
Special rectangular anchorages are used for ring post-tensioning or for intermediate tensioning: this anchorage also uses a special deviator for tensioning with a mono-strand jack.
PTA system
Tensacciai historical PT series system (isotensioning with plurijacks) is still being produced but is limited to anchorages up to 10 strands (anchorage 10PTA15). The purpose of this restriction is to avoid anchorages with excessive end deviations.
The production also includes:
- the ST series anchorages, i.e. dead end anchorages with bond end anchorages
- dead end anchorages (C type) with extruded anchorages (compression grips)
- the looped anchorage (U type), which is now only used in a few cases in which cables can be prefabricated.
Tensacciai also manufactures the equipment for post-tensioning operations: a complete and wide assortment of products, ranging from the strand pushing machine to various types of tensioning pumps and jacks, grout pumps, turbo mixers and vacuum pumps.
